Over 1,400 bellringers across the UK died during the First World War, including 2 from Holy Trinity at Skipton. They were Frank Crossland Billows who died in Salonika on 24th April 1917 and Robert Barker who died on 3rd May 1917 in Flanders.
During the centenary of their deaths, a peal of Plain Bob Triples was rung half-muffled in their honour, details of which can be seen here.
There are separate pages for each of the two ringers, Frank Crossland Billows is here and Robert Barker is here.
